Player Spotlight: Michael Bache

Today's Player Spotlight: Michael Bache

For over two years Michael Bache has brought their diverse vocal gravitas to the Vaingate Chronicles in their main role as the tragic dwarven Rune Knight, Adrik Fogdar. A character Michael portrays with a depth and intensity rarely achieved in Dungeons and Dragons. A character whose inner conflict has brought tears to our eyes and viewers more than once.

For Adrik is a Ragningar of Beranor Fane, an adventurer, warrior, and briefly, a father. And Michael takes their roles seriously. They are equally at home plumbing the depths of their character's psychology as the tombs of the Banakaian mountains.

Michael is a professional with as much capacity for comedy as drama--as evidenced in their previous collaborations on Dungeons and Dipshits with fellow voice actor, Caitlin Flower. And it's not all doom and gloom here on the Vaingate Chronicles either. Because Michael is well aware that tragedy is nothing without contrast; and Michael's wit and timing bring their characters to life, making them feel well-rounded and real. Besides being our first openly non-binary gendered player, Michael is also our sound designer, and mixer, bringing music, tones and mood-effects to the stream--on the fly. Not easy to do while roleplaying. Michael also splits the task of running our disabled player, Barry Te Hira's character on DnDBeyond with the other players. Michael is an incredibly good roleplayer, voice actor, and friend. Their compassion and humanity give him profound insight into their characters and allow them to continually take their roleplaying to new depths, exploring the human (and maybe dwarven!) condition.
